It All Wrapped Up, Sept Oct 2016 ReleaseFinishes

Jan at beach5

Well, do you see that smile on my face………………It is straight from my heart.  This week has been extremely hectic, the Design Team has certainly been put through the wringer and came out with me having 16 pages of names of those that left comments.  My heart swelled to almost bursting , touched so deeply by many touching sentiments. I have walked through the darkest of clouds and storms since I had to stop producing stamps.  I wept many a night, well, even days.   I made the decision a year ago and began to work on things, but it was never just what I had in mind, and I was beginning to doubt my decision.  Lo and behold I have been given artists and great designers.  I have the beginnings of a great new team, new name, and new logo for Flourishes.  We have a huge release and pulled it off.  Thanks to all my ladies for each and every thing you have contributed this week.  This a collage of their

Take a bow, Artists Lauren Pope and Bev Cole,  Senior DT Team, Bev, Naomi, Rebecca, and Trica  !!!!

One of the reasons that this week has been harder for me is that I am working with a new, but temp, handicap. Something I have never experienced before breaking bones, mine.jans-wright-hand-in-cast1

Yeppers, I broke my predominate hand, my right hand, had surgery, caste, PT,  then tripped on my own shoe and reached out to stop a fall.  I broke a new bone and got a new cast.  This has not made things easier and certainly tested my will to find strength to get through this week.

Next week will bring about even more announcements.  It is hard to contain myself and wait.  I can tell you that our future looks very promising.  Flourishes may in deed shine even brighter.

MONDAY winner is Parker O,  you now own Fuji Mums.

TUESDAY  WINNER  is Karen H,  you now own Bushel of Thanks.

I am sincerely grateful for the oh so many comments!

Monday Release Week Sept 2016

Today I will share more information about our featured set Fuji Mums

but I promised s few surprises up my sleeve this week and so with out further a do we are introducing a new Senior Design Team Member

Rebecca Edine

Here is what she said when I asked what I could say, I am glad she is being very humble, has limited supplies but jumped in to make this debut:

Hi! I’m Rebecca Ednie, a SAHM of three boys and wife to Tim from a small town north east of Toronto Ontario Canada. I love crafting and stamping of course including sewing, calligraphy and jewelry design as well as watching movies, going to the beach, reading and photography. I love to laugh, adore my family and have a strong faith in God. I have a serious disability but I don’t let that stop me, I just make sure to take care of myself. I am thrilled to be part of the Flourishes Senior Design Team as I’ve been waiting for an opportunity like this for years. Thank you to Jan Marie for making me part of the Flourishes Team!

She has the pleasure of leading the Flourishes blog hop today.  I will give you a preview of one of her cards  a

but the details are HERE  and so is another one showing her creative and flexibility.  I can’t wait until she has her arms filled with Flourishes products, papers, ribbons, Designer Papers.  Poke around the store if you haven’t been there in a while,  things like Color Made Easy Ribbons and Papers have expanded.  We added a new line of ribbon we call our fine silks.  The colors are perfect for all Color made Easy Papers and Copic Markers.  Fine Silks are smaller than many of our May Arts Silks but that too is growing.  It is exciting times here at Flourishes !

I am very proud to release for your pleasure Fuji Mums by Bev Cole.  fuji-mum-set-b-watermarked

Mums of all kind conjure up thoughts of Fall for me.  High school football games, school bands, cheer leaders, last but not least ( at least back in the day ) homecoming corsages, and the beginning of the trees colors changing.  We even have a few here in Pensacola that change color- rustling of leaves – leaves falling, blowing in the wind…on and on it is a long list, I know.  What are your thoughts about Fall?  Then there are the smells of fall.  As a cook, the scent of spices, the smell of baking, and certain foods cooking, gives my mind a whirl.  I hope I have inspired you to create with one of our new sets and get a spot on our Pinterest Board.  Today is the first day that you may purchase THIS set.  Each day of our 6 release days please leave your comments and I will put your name in the bowl for that day.  At midnight (CDT)  we will pull a name and the winner will win this set!

Each  DAY FOLLOWING:  I will put the names of people that commented in the bowl.  The winner of the draw will get the set of the day…only one entry per day,  please.

On Sunday I will announce one winner of all of this weeks  6 released sets!  I will draw a lucky name from all the names submitted. It could be YOU!   And still another bargain,  for the seven days Starting Sunday,  25 September to 1 October,  you can purchase the entire bundle of the 6 released sets for 10% off!

Rebecca,  lead us to the hop,  Bev take a bow for your artistry  in this new set.  Bev will lead you to the next stop on our hop.

Free For All Friday – Baby Boy

Hello, everyone! Naomi here, for another FAFF.
Today, I thought I’d share another card using A Mother’s Hug as I think this is a great stamp set to use for baby cards and wanted to show how it could be used to make a sweet card for a baby boy, as well…

Here is what I came up with:

I cut the main image out using the Flourishes Tailor-Made Classic Keyhole Spellbinders die. Before removing the die-cut from the die, I sponged the image using a Ranger Ink Blending Tool and Tim Holtz Distress Ink in Tumbled Glass. Some pretty patterned papers, velum, a paper doily, some seam binding, a cute tiny tag, and some gold glittered enamel dots made this a sweet, vintage, shabby chic card fit for a little prince!

Anyway, thank you so much for stopping by – I hope you enjoyed your stay!

Day Three Release June 2016 A Mother’s Hug

Good Morning Stamping Friends!

By golly it is already day three of our first week back – a full steam of release.

Today’s release, A Mother’s Hug is special!  Over one year ago, I asked Lauren Pope to create a new take on an old classic piece of a mother and child.  Normally, I get what we call ” roughs” – drawings to make sure we are heading where we want to go with a stamp set. This time, however, Lauren asked me to wait just a little longer because she had a special drawing in progress and wanted me see it just a bit further down the time frame.  Oh my, when I saw this set, I was in love!  She had fulfilled my desire for a new take on a mother and child and in such a classical but, global way that it could be used by anyone in any country and for so many types of occasions.  I hope you will love A Mother’s Hugas much as I do.  Without further ado here she is….

/Users/L.Brigid.Pope/Desktop/Flourishes 2016/Angels/mothers hug

The set just barely makes the 4 inches by 6 inches and my personal finished card is a 5 inch by 7 inch.  She is majestic.  The sentiment says “A Mother’s Hug is the perfect gift, one size fits all.”

Here is my own card using the set:

Mother's Hug

Supplies Used–LOL- “The Kitchen Sink”  If ever I did  real mixed media for a card, it was this one.

Papers: Flourishes Classic White

Decorative paper from Michaels

Spellbinders Swirl Bliss Pocket

Copic Markers, Faber Castell Colored pencils, Recollections white marker, Jelly Roll pens in lots of colors, Pastel Chalks–enough, enough already.  Yes it was fun puling out all the stuff and using it again, now I have to pick it up.

And of course, I want you to hop along with our Senior Design Team!

Here is the Blog Hop List:

Day 2 Release June 2016 Clover & Bees

It’s already Tuesday and the last day of the month of May for 2016. Tomorrow will be June and summer is almost here but, the last few weeks of spring still remain.  I love the new green that shows up everywhere – trees, lawns, and fields during spring.  Such a  wonderful bright new green that we all know will soon grow into the deeper field greens we see most of the time.

To celebrate Spring, we had Lauren Pope create a set to celebrate it’s grandeur.  We simply called it Clover & Bees and here it is:

Clover Bee set 2Bb

Doesn’t that make you want to go out and sing the song “The hills are alive”.  As Always the set is 4×6 inches, featuring one main image, 4 smaller images and 7 sentiments.

Here is my card made with this set.  I like that it feels fresh and clean and almost monochromatic.
